Rachel Bolan: Dirty Rocker Soap Company Review

Instragram is a treasure-trove of desirable products and if you’re as curious as I am, you’ve probably made a purchase or two. Sometimes you hit the jackpot, other times, you want to knuckle-thwak yourself for being so easily duped.

A couple-few months back, I purchased and tested an Instagram-find from a newly launched, small business, Dirty Rocker Soap Company which was launched by none other than Rachel Bolan of Skid Row.

For my original review (see below) I tested the unscented bar of DRSC. The brand made a great impression. The packaging was simple but aesthetically appealing and very cool, much like it’s maker. The hand-made bar is wrapped in a simple, black, sleeve which is covered by a label which looks like the side of a road-case with the words Dirty Rocker Soap Company and a familiar looking skull wearing a nose-chain on it. The unscented bar contains four ingredients, Coconut Oil, Olive Oil, Distilled Water, Sodium Hydroxide, all of which are listed on a simple sticker on the back of the bar.

The most impressive thing about this product is the quality of the soap itself. It’s a light but effective product that leaves your skin feeling clean, without stripping your skin. It can be used on your face or your body, and in the case of the unscented bar, it won’t compete with your perfume or cologne which is an added bonus.

From top to bottom, citrus-basilico, lemongrass green, lemongrass green, pure unscented.

In the time that has passed since I originally filmed my video review, I’ve tested additional scented bars and found them to be equally good. The only differences I found between the unscented bar and the scented bars (lemongrass green & citrus basilico) are that the scented varieties include additional ingredients (essential oils…) and have their own unique natural scents.

While my motivation for purchasing my first couple of bars of soap were completely fan-driven, I can say, that fan or no fan, this soap is stellar. In my other life (as a beauty blogger) I’ve tested hundreds of skin-care products and this one is worthy of my skincare drawer – which is why I ordered four more bars (and this order came with picks).
